Show Nebo names new acting director of instruction for the district Boyd Goodrich of Springville and elementary supervisor for the Nebo School District, has been appointed acting director of instruction for the district, according to an announcement from the school board. Mr. Goodrich will replace Dr. James Dunn, whose resignation becomes effective September 15. Other school board action taken ta-ken at the last meeting including includ-ing the agreement to study the master contract proposed by the Nebo Education Association. Associa-tion. The study will proceed on a schedule by Superintendent Joe A. Reidhead. The board agreed to sell a parking lot near the Springville Middle School (east side of the road) to John M. Sparks for $3510. Mr. Sparks told the board that he intends to build a small apartment house on the plot. Nine acres of land near the Payson High School was leased by the board. A new student behavior policy pol-icy was formally adopted by the board and will become part of the district policy book. Supt. Reidhead read to the board a statement from Dr. T. M. Bell, superintendent of public pub-lic instruction, outlining constitutional consti-tutional provisions which prohibit pro-hibit the use of school buildings by religious institutions. Board representatives William Soren-son Soren-son and Lynn Crook recommended recom-mended that copies of the letter let-ter be sent to the bishop of the Bejamin LDS Ward and to stake presidents throughout the district. Benjamin had requested reques-ted permission to use the school while building a new ward chapel. |
