Show I Art board seeks replacement for W. W. Clyde, president Wilford W. Clyde, who has served on the Springville Art Association Board for a number of years and is currently cur-rently president of the organization, or-ganization, announces that he will not be a candidate for re-election at the annual fall meeting of the association associa-tion held in September. In view of this announcement, announce-ment, museum director, Bruce Braithwaite, announced announ-ced that anyone desiring to have a name considered for the board position, submit it to one of the board members: mem-bers: Jack Allen, who is currently cur-rently vice president; Harold Bartlett, Calvin Packard, George Bird, Loeen Whiting, Rell Francis, Paul Forster, Stanley Burningham, Ray Whiting or Glen Coffman. Suggestions should be submitted sub-mitted prior to the meeting scheduled for September 9. Names may also be submitted submit-ted to the Art Association, P. O. Box 258. The board will choose a new member for the board as has been the custom in the past fall meetings. Mr. Clyde has been one of the most outstanding supporters sup-porters of the art movement in Springville and was involved in-volved as a city councilman when the art building was being errected. He was responsible re-sponsible for the addition of the new wing on the art building through the Clyde Foundation. He has served for the past several years as president of the organization and he and Mrs. Clyde donated do-nated a painting to the museum. mu-seum. Following the naming of a new board member, this body will then elect a new president and vice president to serve for the ensuing year. Director Braithwaite reminds re-minds local townspeople that two one-man shows are currently cur-rently still hung at the museum mu-seum including the paintings of Trevor Southey and Roman Ro-man Andrus. The Oliver Parson one-man show is schedulde for September. |
