Show Springville students to receive degrees at BYU commencement Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, today announced the names of 1568 students who will receive degrees at the summer sum-mer convocation of the 94th Commencement today at 9:30 a.m. in the George Albert Smith Fieldhouse. Combined with the spring graduation of 2965 students, the summer graduation list brings the total for the year to 4533, a new record. In the summer services the doctor's degree will be awarded to 32, the masters degrees to 338, the bachelor's degree to 1181, and the associate degree to 17. The following Springville people will receive the bachelor's bache-lor's degree unless otherwise indicated: Nolan J. Nelson (associate), Linda Ostler, Wallace Dea Montague Jr., Eldon Wayne Reese, Pauline Whiting Todd, Brian Ritch Harward, Clarence G. Martineau, John David Stokes, David Kent Thomas, Jon Arvil Bird, Russell Aaron Williams (master), William Dale Osborn (master), Dorothy Hall (master), J. Lewis Taylor (doctor). J. Lewis Taylor of this city will receive Ph.D. degree in the BYU commencement exercises today. His doctoral major is in educational edu-cational psychology and his mi doctoral minor is in religious education. He graduated with honors from the University of Utah (B.S. degree) in 1960 and obtained ob-tained his M.A. degree from BYU in 1965. He has been empolyed for six years in the LDS Seminary System. He served three years as principal of the junior high seminary in Springville. He is a member of Phi Kappa Kap-pa Phi, national scholastic fraternity, fra-ternity, and was awarded the Phi Delta Kappa award for excellence ex-cellence in educational research in 1965. He has been assigned to direct di-rect the LDS Institute adjacent to the University of Washington Washing-ton in Seattle this fall. He will be accompanied by his wife, Jon, and their five children. Russell A. Williams, son of Mr .and Mrs. Aaron (Bus) Williams Wil-liams of Mapleton, will receive his Master of Psychology degree de-gree today from the Brigham Young University. He received his B.S. from the Y in 1967. He is president of Psi Chi, BYU chapter of the National Honor Society in Psychology. He has been an honor student throughout graduate school. He will work as a school psychologist psychol-ogist for the Regional Child Study Services in Price for the next year, where he worked as a psychologist part thr.e last year. He plans to return and work on his doctorate next summer. Mr. Williams is married to Karen Iverson and they have two children.
