Show Ladies Literary Club holds luncheon Members of the Ladies Literary Lit-erary Club held a noon luncheon lunch-eon last Thursday at Delia's in Spanish Fork, hosted by the new officers with the retiring officers being honored. Bertha Johnson, the new president for the coming year, payed tribute to Julia Sumsion, past president, and also presented pre-sented her a gift of appreciation apprecia-tion from the club. Mrs. Sumsion Sum-sion responded, thanking all those officers who assisted her during the year. During the luncheon, Norma McKenzie talked about the new fall fashions and the trends of the market. Mrs. Sumsion told of her son's accomplishments in obtaining his doctor's degree back east. Following lunch, progressive games were played with the winners being Manila Brown and Belva Edwards. Attending were Naomi McKenzie, Clara Sumsion, Bertha Johnson, Julia Sumsion, Helen Crandall, Lu- cille Bird, Rea Straw, Jessie Dalton, Manila Brown, Birdella Bearnson, Minnie Groesbeck, Belva Edwards and Mae Groesbeck, Groes-beck, guest and former member. mem-ber. Convalescing Mrs. Amy Ostler underwent surgery for a cataract at the Utah Valley Hospital Thursday. Recovering Sharon Gren, 28, of 595 So. 400 East, is recovering from injuries when she fell from a horse while riding here last Tuesday night. She was hospitalized at the Utah Valley Hospital where she was taken following the accident. |
