She will go to Provo Saturday to start the program moving. Mr. and Mrs. H C. Thomas left here for Salt Lake City Wednesday Wed-nesday morning to attend a buyers' buy-ers' convention. They are not expected ex-pected to return until Sunday. Fred Quinter of the Leeds CCC camp entered the McGregor hospital hos-pital April 24 for medical treatment treat-ment under Dr. Walter Whalen. Miss Irene Milne and her brothers broth-ers Jake and Glenn arrived Friday Fri-day from Los Angeles visiting relatives rel-atives in Washington and St. George over Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hickman of Ogden and Mrs. Than Smith of Salt Lake City returned home Tuesday morning after a brief visit in St. George at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Judd. Mrs. Marion M. Snow of Richfield Rich-field underwent surgery in the local hopsital May 25. Returning to their respective homes from the hospital during the past week were: Mrs. Andrew McArthur and baby girl of St. George; Mrs. Robert Sommer-frucht Sommer-frucht and baby boy of Elsinore, April 24; Mrs. Austin Hunt and baby girl to Bunkerville, April 27; Mrs. Glenn Tobler and baby boy to Washington, April 26, and Kenneth Leavitt to Veyo, April 28. The Bridge Ettes were entertained enter-tained Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. Frank Holland with Mrs. Rex Nelson, Mrs. Bill Bleak, Mrs. Fenton Gray and Mrs. Brown Hail as special guests. Honors for the afternoon went to Mrs. Robert Pickett and Mrs. Rex Nelson. Luncheon was served to 12. Carlos Schmutz, Rodney Neil-son, Neil-son, Wilrher Kemp and Joe Williams Wil-liams are all at Santa Monica, California, where they are employed em-ployed by Douglas Aircraft in the Defense program. Miss Lena Besendorfer, former Washington county nurse visited over Sunday in St. George after attending "the two-days' clinic for crippled children in Cedar City. 8 Mrs. Corwin Terrill and small son Allen Arnold, left for their home in Aberdeen, Wash., last Monday evening, after a two-weeks' two-weeks' visit in St. George. Mrs. Irene Peterson left Tuesday Tues-day for Salt Lake City on business. busi-ness. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Murk and daughter Joan, left last Friday Fri-day for Salt Lake City on receipt re-ceipt of word that Mrs. Murk's father, Charles Herman had died at his home of heart attack early that morning. Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson of Springville were visitors over the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Riding, stopping on their way to and from Las Vegas, where they visited a sister of Mrs. Nelson's. Members of the W. A. N. club were convoyed to Santa Clara for their session Monday evening, April 28, at the home of member Miriam Reber who was assisted by member Herma Gubler as K. P. for the event. Dr. Gilbert Hyatt, daughters Reva and Luana, and son Elson motored to Los Angeles and returned re-turned over the week-end to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hyatt. Joseph Turnbeaugh and daughter daugh-ter Mrs. M. G. Bauer left Tuesday Tues-day for Salt Lake City where-Mr. Turnbeaugh will receive treatment treat-ment from Dr. E. C. Cowan for his left hand and arm which have been giving him serious trouble for several weeks. News of the death of David Hatch was received here Thursday Thurs-day morning by his sister, Mrs. S. J. Bamhurst. Mr. Hatch, who is a former resident of St. George and Hatch, died at his home in Los Angeles this (Thursday) morning. Miss Barbara Sturzenegger left Thursday morning for Ely, where she has employment. Lawrence Wadsworth and Ivor Clove of Enterprise left Wednesday Wednes-day morning for Salt Lake City on business. Mrs Tina Macfarlane of St George, now visiting with her children, Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Bleak in Salt Lake City was featured fea-tured in the Sunday Salt Lake Tribune photographed with several sev-eral pieces of her handiwork in netting along with an interesting article on her busy life and the variety of art needlework she is always busy with. She plans to return to St. George shortly. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Adams and baby girl returned to their home at San Diego Monday evening eve-ning after spending a week with Mrs. Adams' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Best and visiting Mr. Adams' family in Washington. A cottage meeting was held last Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Worthen under direction of Mrs. Thelma Bryant. Speakers were Mrs. Ruth Earl and Barnard Seegmiller, the latter a recently returned missionary mission-ary of the east ward. Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Bleak gained the distinguished title of grandparents Tuesday, April 29, with the arrival of a baby girl at the home of their son Lloyd, and wife, in Pocatello, at 10 a.m. Mrs. Bleak is the former Nina Gubler. Mrs. Louis Gerber is here from Salt Lake City for an extended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Lang. Mr. and Mrs. Josephus Riding set table Sunday for an informal family dinner with 18 attending. The out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hoff from Taft, Calif., who were here Thursday Thurs-day over Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Wittwer and Mrs. Edwin Riding and two sons who were in from Pioche over Saturday and Sunday. A. B. Andrus returned Monday from Salt Lake City where he has been visiting for several days and receiving medical treatment. Dr. and Mrs. Wendell Robinson and baby arrived Sunday from Hemet, California, to visit relatives. rela-tives. Mrs. Robinson and baby will remain for some time, the Dr. returning Sunday evening. |
