Show Maxine Pendleton and Grant Brooks To Be United At Home Ceremony Sunday Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Pendleton have announced the engagement of their daughter Maxine, to Grant Brooks, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam Brooks of this city. The ceremony will take place Sunday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents with Bishop Byron Taylor officiating in the presence of immediate family members and a few inimate friends. For the ceremony, Miss Pendleton Pendle-ton has chosen a smart street dress in dull blue with matching accessories. She will be unattended. unat-tended. Following an informal wedding dinner at the Pendleton home, the couple will leave for a short trip, returning to St. George to make their home. On Tuesday evening Miss Pendleton Pen-dleton was honored with a neighborhood neigh-borhood shower, with Mrs. Ralph Huntsman and daughter Iris, as hostesses. The affair was held at the Pendleton home with 25 close neighbors attending. A variety of stunts, guessing games, singing sing-ing and reading furnished entertainment, enter-tainment, prior to the serving of refreshments and opening of the gifts. Mrs. Flora Brooks and daughters, Mrs. Byron Taylor, Mrs. Merrill Stucki and Miss Emily Brooks united Wednesday evening in entertaining en-tertaining a large group of relatives rela-tives and close friends at the Brooks home. Recipes and suggestions for the bride and a variety of interesting games made up the evening's program. pro-gram. Miss Pendleton received many gifts. School girl friends of Miss Pendleton gave her a shower at the home of Pres. and Mrs. Harold S. Snow Thursday evening, with Miss Dorothy Gregerson and Mrs. Snow as hostesses. |
