Show Dixie College News Guard Fund Raised The committee appointed some time ago to raise funds for the National Guard has now turned over the complete amount, according accord-ing to M. J. Miles, chairman. The total was $111.69. Of this amount, $62.70 was collected col-lected from shows and dances, $17.65 from the Lions club, and committee collections $31.34. DJC Grant Twitchell, Don Carlos Schmutz, Joseph Williamson, Wil-mer Wil-mer Kemp and Romain Sturzen-egger Sturzen-egger are the latest Dixie college Defense students to receive employment em-ployment in California. The last named is at Lockheed and the others with Douglas aircraft. DJC Students of the biology department depart-ment made a trip to the Beaver Dam Slope last Saturday. Reptiles and plants of the region were studied. It is reported that the wild flower gardens of that section sec-tion are particularly pretty this year. College Band Tour The college band will give concerts con-certs in Orderville and Kanab next Wednesday. Following the programs there, a smaller group will go to Panguitch, Circleville, Salina, Richfield and Monroe. Those going to the northern points are: Earl J. Bleak, Miss Ruth Falck, LeRoy Walker, La-Raine La-Raine McArthur, Norman Hunt, Ernest Pulsipher, Pearl Matheson, Que Bradshaw and Clive Hartman. -DJC The Faculty Women's club is holding hold-ing their last meeting of the year today. Mrs. Julio Poalasso and Mrs. Paul R. Lindeman are the hostesses. DJC Sophomore Class Play Tonight "Poor Dear Edgar," the sophomore sopho-more class play, is being presented to the 'public tonight at 8 o'clock at the college auditorium. Those taking part are: Carol Cox, Wayne Prince, Carol Cot-tam, Cot-tam, DeWayne Schmutz, Adell Asay, Beulah Smith, Merrill Cox, Vauna Mae Leany, Beman Snow, Ida Foremaster and Guy Bowler. The play is also being produced pro-duced tomorrow as a part of Sophomore day. |
