Show St. George Gets Ready To Cast Largest Yote In History Next Tuesday Many Predict Close Race As Citizens Divide On Municipal Power Question With every indication pointing to the largest number of voters to cast their vote in St. George, election officials report that they are ready to handle the election on next Tuesday, May 6. A poll of the voters of this city points to the fact that most people are anticipating a close vote. For this reason every effort ef-fort will be made in the next few days to present their causes by all groups who are backing or opposing the proposed ordinance which, if voted through, will authorize au-thorize the City Council to go ahead with the proposed $300,000 system. Pages and pages of facts, general gen-eral information, publicity and "what-have-you" have been published pub-lished during the campaign. Free picture shows have been held and more are scheduled so that the public should be informed of all sides of the issue. As one voter put it, "when St. George gets worked up over an election, it really gets worked up". Check the Issue Readers of the Washington County News are particularly urged to check this issue of the News. There are ads, letters and more letters and even an editorial on the subject. All factions join in urging every voter to go to the polls and use his inalienable right to vote as he sees fit. It is pointed out that this is a vital issue to the citizens of this community and should be decided by the full vote of all. |
