Show Leeds CCC Camp LEEDS, Utah CCC Company 585 at Camp Leeds, Utah, added one more Spain to her list in the Dixie baseball league, trimming the Hurricane CCC to the tune of 7 to 5. Benford the southpaw twirler for the winners did outstanding work in the box for seven innings. His work at the bat was also commendable.-1 Stevenson of the Hurricane club did a good piece of work at the bat. This game gives the Leeds team three wins out of four games played thus far, making them a definite threat to the winners this season. Senior Scouts Twenty-eight senior sbouts of CCC Company 585 now functioning function-ing as a unit of the Utah National Parks Scout council, made a trip to Zion National Park Saturday, June 1. Accompanied by Mr. Bushman, Bush-man, educational adviser and senior scout leader, they spent the day at such points of interest as the Narrows, Weeping Rock, the Zoo, and Mt. Carmel tunnel. The day was concluded by a troop cooking program at which time the majority of the boys joined in making the famous hunter's stew. These boys coming principally from Ohio and Indiana were well pleased with their first venture into Southern Utah's scenic wonderland. Camp At Enterprise "A 50-man side camp will function func-tion at Enterprise within about a week", states Mr. Young, camp superintendent at the Leeds camp. The camp in the Enterprise Soil Conservation district, composed com-posed of nine portable buildings, were constructed with the aid of enrollee help. This side camp will do much to facilitate the work of the crew in that district which has been accomplished during the past with headquarters at Pinto. The men are looking forward with eagerness eager-ness toward occupying this attractive at-tractive camp at Enterprise. |
