Show Hurricane Miss Audrey Ballard Reporter Early Saturday, Bryan Johnson, accompanied by his sisters, Edith, Afton and Leora Johnson of Hurricane Hur-ricane and Mrs. Frank Nunes, of San Jose, Calif., who has been a guest at the Jerry Johnson home, left for San Jose, where they will visit for a few days. Edith will remain with the Nunes family during the summer. Mrs. Herman Neilson and family spent Saturday with relatives in Long Valley. Some of the Hurricane college students who have returned for the summer are Dawn Graff from the U. of U.; Clemmens Hinton, Bill Smith, William Isom and Elaine Sandberg of the U.S.A.C. Mrs. Verdett Webster and family of Cedar City spent the past week at the home of Mrs. Joel J. Roundy. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones of Overton, Nev. were visitors Sunday Sun-day at the Rex Bliss home. Miss Dale Ward of Parowan is here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Paige Knell. Miss Reta Cox of Cane Beds, Ariz., is visiting Miss Ina Perkins. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilcox and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Edwards of Panaca, Nev., were guests at the Gene Wadsworth home on Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Stanworth, Mr. and Mrs. LaVell Gifford, and Mrs. Lawrence Kleinman of Cedar City were week end guests at the Thomas Stanworth home. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Spendlove and small daughter from Boulder City arrived here Monday for a few days' visit with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Spendlove and family. Mr. and Mrs. Enos Sandberg of Salt Lake City spent Saturday through Tuesday at the Chauncey Sandberg home. Monday the entire party spent the day at Grand Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Williams left Saturday for Iowa where thev will spend a month's vacation with their parents. Mr. William is the educational adviser at the Hurricane Hur-ricane CCC camp. Mr. and Mrs. George Nebecker and son, Thad, of Sigurd, Utah, spent the week end visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Perkins and Mr. and Mrs. David Teeples. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Atkin of Los Angeles spent Sunday of last week with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Workman. Together they toured Bryce, Cedar Breaks and Zion Canyons. The Misses Opal Isom, Verlene Wood and Audrey Ballard spent Thursday and Friday in Cedar City and Kanarra with friends. They were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jeprge Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley Isom anc Mr. and Mrs. Samuel L, Pollock." Miss Donna Wilson is visiting in Ogden with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Elders. Mr. and Mrs. Alma M. Wright of Overton, Nev. are here as guests at the home of Alma Wright Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Ballard and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Williams attended at-tended the wedding of Chester Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse F. Williams Sr. and Miss Carma Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Davis on Tuesday. The young couple were married at the Williams residence and plan to live in Kanarra. Last week end the Jose Hoyt family departed on summer vacations vaca-tions and to work. Roma went to Orderville, Rodney to Salt Lake City and Delos to San Francisco. Saturday night a farewell party was given to Delos by his friends. Miss Eleanor Nichols, Hurricane high school English instructor, left Friday for her home in Provo. Miss LaVerd Wright has gone to Tremonton where she will spend a week with Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Pierce. Mrs. Bill Owens of Pioche, Nev. came in Saturday for a brief visit with her Darents. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Isom. Miss Fawn Isom, Mrs. Owens' sister, accompanied her back to Pioche for a visit. Miss Gwynn Noye and Miss Barbara Tobler of Las Vegas and Overton, respectively, have been visiting at the Fenton Whitney home during the past week. Friends of Miss Lorraine Brad-shaw, Brad-shaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delone Bradshaw, honored her with a wedding shower on Monday. Mon-day. Miss Bradshaw is to be married mar-ried to Arlon Campbell, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Campbell, in the near future. Ward Moody and Grant Snow of Delta were visiting friends here on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Errol Woodbury spent Sunday at Luck Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cosslett of Cedar City. |
