Backs Move For Lower Gas Prices Officials Declare Prices Here Are Out Of Line With Other Places Declaring that the St. George Chamber of Commerce plans an active investigation to determine who is responsible for descrimina-tory descrimina-tory gas prices in St. George and the taking of the necessary steps to bring about a reduction, J. L. Wadsworth, president, directed attention at-tention to the need for such action. This problem was among many that were considered by directors at a regular meeting held on last Monday night in the office of the organization. Pointing out that the need for a reduction has been brought to the attention of the organization by men who are in the retail gasoline gaso-line business, Mr. Wadsworth stated that they intend to find out why gasoline can be trucked in from California through St. George and taken to Cedar City and sold at a lower price than here. The board also authorized the expenditure of $200 to put the airport in condition for recognition recogni-tion by the department of air-neautics. air-neautics. With the recognition by the federal government, the field will be in line for the spending of money, set up for the improvement improve-ment of fields under an appropriation appropria-tion set up by the government. An effort will be made by the organization to secure a substantial sub-stantial part of the license money that is taken in in this section from hunting and fishing licenses.
