Show Snow Canyon Bids To Be Called For In Two Weeks Road Surfacing Will Also Be Done As Soon As Possible Bids for the construction of the unfinished section of the Snow Canyon Road will be called for by the Utah State Road Commission Com-mission within two weeks, so reports Commissioner N. R. Frei, who called at the office of the state road commission last week. Mr. Frei talked with the drafting draft-ing department head, Mr. Anderson, Ander-son, and Chairman W. D. Hammond. Ham-mond. These men report that the road department has been working overtime to get the blue prints and specifications ready for this project. The state officials also assured the county that another contract will be let for the surfacing sur-facing of this road as soon as the grading is completed. Estimated costs for the grading project soon to be let ranges from fifty to seventy thousand dollars. Commissioner Frei also called on T. H. Humpherys, state engineer, en-gineer, and offered the assistance of the county in furthering the small reservoir projects and urging the development of the reservoir sites in Washington county. Commissioner N. B. Cook, of the fish and game department, also assured Mr. Frei that his department would be interested in assisting with both the Pine Valley and Kolob areas from the standpoint of improving the fishing fish-ing and recreational , possibilities in southern Utah. |
