Show Clinton Larson, Former World High Jump Champion Visits Friends-Relatives Clinton Larson, graduate of the Dixie high school, arrived in St. George Wednesday night for a short visit with friends and relatives. rela-tives. Mr. Larson will be remembered remem-bered by his athletic feats, having broken the world's record in the running high jump. Since leaving here he reports that he has crossed the United States 32 times and has won over 100 medals for athletic feats. At the present time he is teaching in the Granite district schools in Salt Lake City. He is chairman of the State Visual Education committee in the U.E.A., also chairman of the P.-T.A. Motion Pictures Education committee and was chairman of the Intermoun-tain Intermoun-tain Track and Field meet held recently in Salt Lake City. Mr. Larson is intensely interested in boys and has taken an active part in scout work, holding many medals and honors in this field. He is accompanied here on his visit by Mrs. Larson. |
