Show Manila High graduates 12 students May 29 MANILA first commencement exercises were held at 8 p.m. Friday, May 29 at the Manila High School gymnasium. The stage was decorated with the class flower in the class colors - blue and white carnations. Prelude, processional', recessional, and postlude music was played by Mrs. William Briggs Sr. The welcome was by class president Kevin Slaugh. The class history was given by Leeanne Redden, Invocation by Stan Stewart. Bendiction by Bruce Christensen. Two songs were sung "Theme from Mahogany" by Becky Barber and "In No Time at All" by Curt Reed. Guest speaker was introduced by Superintendent Superin-tendent Norman W. Long. Guest speaker was John Payne presently living in Duncan, Arizona and formerly a teacher at Manila High School. Roll call was by Joe Richards. Stephen W. Thompson, president of the Daggett Board of Education, presented the diplomas. Absent from the pictures are Scott Shipton and Michael John Miller. The Manila High School held an awards banquet at the Manila High School gymnasium the evening of May 22, 1981. Presentation of awards were as follows: Social Studies by Mr. Bill Carter; American government - Paul Lamb, geography - Natalie Radosevich and Matthew Briggs, World history -Alan Friedman and Christy Jo Triplett, Utah history - Troy Sadlier and Rhonda Sandquist, American history - Brant Meinrod and Michelle Steinaker, Citizenship - Mike Radosevich, Ail-Around Ail-Around certificates - Shane Erekson, Bruce Anderson, Steve Bean Kevin Michell, and Lisa Briggs. Science award given by Dr. Jerry L. Jackson; advance biology - Kristee Briggs, Chemistry - Joe Rebeck, 10th grade Biology - Paul Lamb, 9th grade science - Natalie Radosevich, 8th grade science - Starla Despain. Outstanding science student - Paul Lamb, Awards for participation in Field trip to Southern Utah - Kristee Briggs, Natalie Radosevich, Becky Barber, Steve Bean, Mke Radosevich, and Blaine Thompson Shop awards were presented by Mr. Ray Brines. Craftsmanship - Steve Bean, Mike Rasdosevich, Randall Despain, Shane Erekson, Silver-smithing Silver-smithing - Chris Wilkinson and Scott Shipton, Woodworking - Dana Parkenson, Jr. High School Shop -David Sikich and Mike Nicotera.
