Fishermen on the Green River below the Flaming Gorge Dam were happy as most anglers experienced ex-perienced good fishing, but the fishermen at Bullock Reservoir were sad as fishing success was reported as poor. Brent and Judy Fajordo of Rock Springs nabbed eight fish in the Green River. "We both hooked four fish each, we caught the fish on cheese and they have been hitting pretty good " Mike Varido of Lousinana and his buddies hooked eight fish. Variado nabbed four fish on a lure. "This is the first time I have fished here. It's all. right but it's different than bass fishing. The rainbows don't fight as much." said Variado. Chuck Randall of Rock Springs hooked four fish, but he was after more. "I have caught four so far on cheese mostly. I've tried worms, but worms haven't been catching them. The fish measured 12 to 14 inches and they're pretty good, but there are bigger ones in there (Green River). Last year was the first year I fished here. I got here a little late, a week after the opener, and caught two fish," said Randall. "I was here last year and I did real well. I have been using worms and salmon eggs," remarked Ray Kebner of Salt Lake City. Fishermen at Bullock Reservoir weren't having much luck, but fisherwoman, Janel Lamb, hooked a fish, "Janel caught one. She has been trying to out do the boys, her brothers. She caught it on cheese. It is the first time she has caught a fish. Janel said, 'I was excited. I couldn't believe it.' She got it right after we threw it out." commented her father, Richard Lamb of Lapoint. Also in the fishing party were Rynnen and Glendon Lamb. However, some fishermen weren't as lucky. "We ain't had nothing. I've only v4 :-, :' ; , - ' I? . ; o K ; ty ' ' . r:y ''ti?"' . I caught a three pounder here once. It's the biggest fish I have ever caught. I've seen some six pounders caught here," said Cliff Johnson of Vernal. Thelma Johnson said, "The water is too muddy." "I usually do pretty good and I usually have always caught my limit. This is the worst its ever been for me. It will probably straighten up once the season gets going. Usually I get my limit by 8 a.m. We had a few nibbles on worms and that's it in one hour," stated Dennis Bird of Roosevelt while fishing at Bullock Reservoir. in Bullock Reservoir durinp, the opener, Saturday.
