Show Youn8'.Pln.Dao ' garner one-run encountery Softball teams from Vernal, Young's Paint and Dalgarno, captured first round victories in the UBIC men's tournament in Roosevelt, Thursday. The Ute Tribe team grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Ed Pusher singled and scored a little while later. Jim Reed got on base due to a single and Carlos Reed advanced to first base on a fielder's choice. However, the 1-0 Ute Tribe lead was shortlived as Young's Paint exploded ' for five runs and a 5-1 advantage after one inning of action. Danny Long ripped the softball for a triple and was knocked in on a double by Monty Lee. Burke Buckalew drove in Lee on a double and Brent Labium singled to drive in Buckalew. Kim Oliverson blasted the softball over the left field fence to knock in Brent Labrum and give Young's Paint a 5-1 lead. The Ute Tribe team scored four runs in the top of the second inning to tie up the game at 5-5. The Ute Tribe team was blanked in the top of the third inning, but Young's Paint scored two more runs for an 11 to 5 advantage.
