They exchanged vows on the 19th of July, 1980. Couple wed in United Presbyterian Church Joan Leslie Nelson and Carl Fessenden were married July 19, at the United Presbyterian Church in Laramie, Wyo. The double ring ceremony, officiated by Reverend Curtis Bainett, was written by the bride and groom. The former Miss Nelson ' is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nelson of Laramie, Wyo. She is a 1978 graduate of Laramie High School and a student at the University of Utah, where she is a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Carl Fessenden, formerly of Bonanza, Utah, now residing in Price, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fessenden of Rangely, Colorado. He is a 1977 graduate of Uintah High School, and is majoring in mining engineering at the University of Utah. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long empire-style gown made of lutesong with the bodice and border of the train made of imported Roman Rose reembroidered lace trimmed with seed pearls. She wore a chapel length 2-tiered bridal veil with a close-fitting Juliet cap made with reembroidered lace and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses, daisies, and baby's breath. The gown was made by the mother of the bride as were the other dresses worn by the bridal party. The maid, of honor, Lecia Ward of Casper, Wyo., wore a lemon-yellow dress of soft leno linen eyelett, belted and trimmed with yellow satin ribbon, and ribbon streamers of yellow, blue and white in her hair. j . -The bridesmaid, the bride's sister, Peggy Nelson, wore an identical blue-green blue-green dress. Both carried nosegays of yellow daisies and baby's breath. The flower girl, Leslie Ann Scally, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scally of Fort Collins, Colo., wore a long floral print dress with a satin stripe of yellow, blue and white. She carried an ' old fashioned bouquet of daisies and baby's breath in a tiny basket. The ringbearer was the bride's brother, Christopher Nelson. The bride's cousin, Kirk Doing ushered, and the groom's brother, Keith Fessenden, served as groomsman. The groom wore a white tuxedo; the bestman, Kim Pettit of Vernal, and the groomsman wore pearl gray tuxedos with satin trim and matching ruffled shirts. The brides' mother wore a hand-screened, hand-screened, raspberry, Indian print dress with a pink carnation corsage. The groom's mother wore a pale green suit-dress suit-dress with a pleated skirt and yellow carnation corsage. Bayard Wilson of Wheatland, Wyo., sang "Sabbath Prayer" and '.'0 Perfect Love." Mrs. Gertrude McKay played the organ. A reception catered by the ladies of the church followed the ceremony in the church lounge. Hostesses were Patricia Fessenden, Elaine Nordberg, Martha Lynn Doing, and Lynn Batkin. Wendy Doing was in charge of the guest book. A family dinner at the bride's parent's home followed the reception. The couple' is now residing in Price, Utah. |
