Show Russian class offered by community schools Dan Good, assistant principal at Uintah High School, will teach an introductory Russian class through the Community Schools Program from 7 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. daily, beginning Tuesday, Aug. 26. The class is offered for both high school and college credit through Utah State Extension. There is no charge for high school students, but they will need to purchase text books for approximately ap-proximately $12. A Community School fee will be charged to all post-high school students amounting to $10 per quarter. Those who desire college credit will have to arrange it with the Utah State Extension Ex-tension to enroll in Russian 101. Recent government reports indicate that there is a serious shortage of Russian speakers in the United States, and many career opportunities are available in the foreign service, military, intelligence agencies, as well as new opportunities in travel and business. This class is designed to meet the needs of both youth and adults. Those students who excel in language arts and who have talents and interest in international in-ternational ideas, and need additional academic classes in their schedule are urged to enroll in the class. Students are expected to continue the class for the entire year. High school students will be expected to attend and adhere to the school's attendance policy. Registration will be at the first class session, Aug. 26. For further information contact the instructor at the high school (789-0363) or at his residence (789-2638). - r -- -J ' f f, ""' , . try .'
