Show THRKK Kl KK-KII)i;HS spkm) M(;n r IN NAI'I.KS Because of the low price of farm products and high interest rates, three Kansas ranchers dressed in old west clothing saddled their horses and pack animals and began traveling to Oregon, April 13, 1980. After following the Arkansas River, up to Grand Junction to Range-ly, Range-ly, Colorado and then to the Uintah Basin; the three stayed last Thursday Thurs-day and Friday in Garth Rassmussem's field in Naples. The three side-arm carrying car-rying ranchers plan to travel into Wyoming, follow the Snake River and enter Oregon. They were undecided as to where in Oregon they were going, but they smiled smil-ed when asked if they were going to see the volcano at Mt. St. Helen. Government estimates show U.S, cotton growers will seed 14.8 million acres this year, up six percent from 1979. The value per acre of farm real estate shot up 16 percent nationally last year. That followed a 12-percent boost in 1978 and a nine percent hike in 1977, reports the U.S. Department of Agriculture. |
