The lamb weighed 113 pounds and sold to Diamond Dia-mond Hills, Soarle Gas and Dave Jolley Chevrolet for $1.50 a pound. After four days of weighing, fitting, showing and selling 247 animals, the 43rd Annual Junior Livestock Show and Sale ended Friday with the awards banquet. ban-quet. Grand Champion in Fat Beef Class was awarded to Evan Harrison for his 1161-pound steer. It was sold to Diamonds Hills, Dave Jolly Chevrolet, and Searle Gas for $1.65 a pound. Reserve Champion in the Fat Beef Class went to Glenn Shelton for a 1058-pound steer also selling to Diamond Dia-mond Hills, Dave Jolley Chevrolet and Searle Gas for $1.02 a pound, The Chain Heifer Award, given to a member of the Better Breeding . Registered Beef Club started by First Security Bank, was awarded to Tony Dudley. The Dudley family won an award from Superior Tire for the best display of Hereford Breeding Cattle. Zions First National Bank awarded Tralynne Ruppe for her chain registered beef heifer. Eligibility in this event called for a letter stating reasons for wanting the heifer and an explanation explana-tion of experience acquired and facilities available for caring for the heifer. The Nick Meagher Award for Grand Champion Bull went to Tracy Houston and the Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Commission Award for Grand Champion Cow also went to Tracy Houston. Grand Champion in the Fat Swine competition was Gregg Morrill with a 217-pound swine which sold to Diamond Hills, Searle Gas, and Dave Jolley Chevrolet for $1.85 a pound. Reserve Champion was Clark Barker. His swine weighed 218 pounds and sold for $1.55 a pound. The swine was purchased by the Cat Creek Ranch. The Chain Sow Award, given to one 4-H or FFA member and donated by Howard Allen since September 1979, was given to Teresa Snow. The award calls for a letter stating reasons for wanting the sow and an explantion of experience acquired and facilities available for caring for the sow. Grand Champion Fat Lamb was awarded to Lynette Morrill with a 123-pound lamb which sold for $4 a pound to Searle Gas, Diamond Hills, and Dave Jolley Chevrolet. Reserve Fat Lamb Champion was given to Justin Tanner, Helper, Utah for his 113 pound lamb which sold for $1.50 a pound. The Champion Chain Ewe was awarded to Tony Dudley based bas-ed on a letter stating reasons for wan; ting the ewe and an explanation of experience ex-perience acquired and facilities available for caring for the ewe. Chew Livestock Awards went to Mike Pahlsander, Grand Champion Ram and Lynette Morrill, Grand Champion Ewe. Joe Newell was presented the Junior Premier Exhibitor trophy for the 4-H member under 14 years of age contributing con-tributing the most to the success of the show. The Senior Premier Exhibitor trophies ent to Darlene Frost, 4-H, and Gregg Morrill, FFA. Contestants were judged by the Stock Show Committee Com-mittee based on exhibits shown, both in quality and quantity, and general all-around all-around cooperation with show officials. James Evans received as award for the outstanding 4-H member who contributed con-tributed most to agriculture and for a ' genuine desire to further study in the field. Lyle Taylor Herefords presented a trophy for over all premier exhibitor to the Morrill family for contributing most in over-all breeding. Winners in the fat stock judging division divi-sion (over-all winner in three divisions), divi-sions), and eligible to attend the Western National Livestock Show in Denver next January are in FFA: Gregg Morrill, Vance Merrell, Shauna Moon and Neil Fedelleck. In the 4-H category for the same trip to Denver plus participating in the State 4-H Judging Judg-ing Contest in Logan in September are Evan Harrison, Lynnette Morrill, Brent Morrill, and Steven Harrison. Alternates Alter-nates are Shelly Wall and David Snow. In the judging of fat animals in the 4-H and FFA group 14 years and over are Evan Harrison, Greg Morrill, Lynette Morrill, Brent Morrill, Steven Harrison, Vance Merrell, Shelly Wall, David Snow, Shauna Moon and Vickie Snow was number ten. In the judging of fat animals of youngsters under 14 years of age was Shane Frost, Tralynee Ruppe, Tonja Morrill, Joe Newell, Billy Oldson, Rebecca Snow, Tracy Moon, Kristina Harrison and Phillip Oviatt. According to County Agent Steven Cox this year's show was the largest of the three years he has been in the area. Total sales were $66,439 compared to $59,366 last year. L-"S L TT 'J jj ...... .... .
