Show Economic growth in Basin shown in report The March issue of "Utah Economic and Business Review" published by the University of Utah gives details for each county in the state on population trends, labor market data, income and tax data, construction activity, and other economic guides. The Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the U. of U. has for the past 20 years compiled statistics showing the growth of the state. Population percentage change for 1978 compared to 1979 for Uintah County is listed at 3.8 percent, Duchesne County 1.7 percent, Daggett County 0 percent and the state average "is 3.8 percentaccording to the report. Gross taxable sales in Uintah County increased 22.5 percent in 1979 over 1978. In Duchesne County the increase was 29.2 percent, in Daggett a minus 20.7 percent was listed and the state as a whole increased 12.9 percent. Property taxes increased in Uintah County 10.1 percent, Duchesne minus 8 percent, Daggett .6 percent, state 10.2 percent. Average non-agriculture employment em-ployment increased in Uintah County 5 percent, Duchesne, 4 percent, Daggett, minus 15.8 percent, state 5.4 percent. Average monthly non-agriculture wage increased in Uintah County is 6 percent, Duchesne 8.1 percent, Daggett minus 15.6 percent, state 7 percent. Number of new dwelling units '.decreased in 1979 by 13.7 percent in Uintah County, Duchesne minus 15.7, Daggett increased 33.3 percent, state minus 21.1 percent, according to the Business Review report. |
