Show Aorney contract bought, weites extension approved! In a special city council meeting. June 11, the council approved a $3,000 retainer for the city attorney and gave their approval for Walter Kloeppel to make a water extension. In light of a $4,184.62 attorney bill for the month of May, Councilman Karl Migliori made the motion to accept an ammended attorney contract to provide for a retainer of $3,000 per, month for both criminal and civil services rendered by the City Attorney, Richard Davidson. The contract will be reviewed Jan. 1, 1981. All councilmen voted in favor of the contract except Gene Anfinson. The council also approved paying May's attorney's fees. Walter Kloeppel appeared before the council to request confirmation of previous permission to extend a waterline on 1500 East and about 1000 North to 1500 North from the existing line installed by Eddie Knutson. Migliori made the motion to permit Kloeppel to extend his waterlme trom the existing line on 1500 East approximately ap-proximately 1000 North, extending about 930 feet to the south property line of Kloeppel's daughter's property Kloeppel will receive half of the connection con-nection fees for all connections made on the east side of the waterline and north of the Knutson property line. His reimbursement will not exceed 50 percent of the total cost of the installation. in-stallation. Items that were tabled at the meeting until this week's meeting, June 18, at 7:30 p.m. include a $83,421 bill from Uintah Engineering and Land Surveying Sur-veying for engineering services rendered ren-dered related to the Valley-Wide Sewer Project. The council believes they don't owe the entire amount, and requested contacting former city manager Glade Nelson to clarify past correspondence with Uintah Engineering about the billing. The result will be presented this week. Also on the agenda from last week is the Gaylon Cook lawsuit. City Attorney Davidson indicated at last week's meeting that the six month agreement with Cook to pay half of his water bill to the city and the other half to a special account pending the suit, expires July 23. Davidson indicated that summary judgement of the lawsuit between Cook and the City should be requested at the expiration of the six month agreement. Cook and other Naples residents are suing the city for claimed unjust water fees in that area. Other items on this week's agenda are: Robinwood Lane improvement district notice of intent, water turbidity report, tentative budget review and the Carlon water line report. The council has requested the heads ot all departments in the city to De present pre-sent at the meeting to discuss the city's budget and make cuts where possible. |
