Show Drug Abuse Coordinating Committee Formed Here Grand County Commissioners Commission-ers met Tuesday after a one day delay for the observance of George Washington's birthday. birth-day. At that meeting they set up a co-ordinating council coun-cil to study drug abuse in this area. iAppointed to the council were: Dixie Barker, Bill Mc-Dougald, Mc-Dougald, Mary Byrd, Harold Jacobs and Glen Richeson. The five member study group was formed as a result if recommendations made at the recent drug abuse workshop work-shop held here where it was stated that such an organization organi-zation was needed to meet the needs of the community in education and activities for youth. A study will be started to Idetermine methods to prevent pre-vent problems with youth in this area. Methods of law enforcement en-forcement and education for parents as well as children will be discussed, according to Dixie Barker. A meeting of the committee will be held later this week at which time they will determine de-termine the goals of their organization and begin plans for their study. They wdl then make recommendations to the Commission concerning concern-ing solving these problems. In other action, the Commission Com-mission appointed Jim Hudson Hud-son to the airport committee commit-tee to replace Dan O'Laurie who resigned last week. They also decided to allow the use of the rodeo grounds by the Red Rock Riders for the Grand County Ilorso show that will be held on April 25 and 2G. A unanimous decision w?s reached to adopt an ordinance ordin-ance accepting the Slate Plumbing Code by reference for Grand County. |
