We will no longer be competing compet-ing with entire states but will be working against cities around Utah." Plans are now being made for the governor and a group of interested persons to take a trip to Hollywod during the second or third week in March. They will be spending five days in California talking talk-ing with movie companies and producers with the hope of gaining some filming for Utah. At the Saturday meeting was actor Robert Redford who was presented with a gold plaque by Governor Rampton naming nam-ing him as an honorary citizen citi-zen of Utah and oppointing him as a good will ambassador ambassa-dor to the movie industry. In a speech, Redford said that Utah has much to catch up on but that it could be done. He said that the state needed a permanent public lelations man to be in Hollywood Holly-wood all the time as a representative repre-sentative of Utah. He declined declin-ed to make a statement on either the Sunday closing law or the liquor by the drink issue, is-sue, saying only that some catching up was necessary. |
