Show 'FLU' CASES HEAD DAVIS COUNTY LIST FARMINGTON Influenza afflicted af-flicted more Davis county residents In 1939 than did any other disease, the annual report Issued by Dr. D. Keith Barnes, deputy state health director, revealed Monday. A total of 118 cases was reported for the year, with 56 recorded in December. Dr. Barnes said most of the December cases occurred I In the north end of the county. I Second on the list was strepto- j cocctc Infection, with 32 cases re- j ported. Other diseases listed were; Chtckenpox, 17; measles, 24; mumps, 23; puenmonia, 15; acute anterior poliomyelitis, 4; spotted fever, 1; tuberculosis, 7; typhoid fever 1, and whooping cough, 4. Activities of the health department depart-ment Included: Nurses' home visits, 2567; child health conferences, 104; Immunization against smallpox, small-pox, 460; immunization against diphtheria, 475; laboratory tests, 1786; Inspections of water, sew-ers, sew-ers, food and milk, 1954, and pounds of rat bait distributed, 1830. |
