Show G-Man Denies Arrest of Spy NEW YORK. Jan. 15 tfW-P. E. Foxworth, in charge of the New York office of the federal bureau of Investigation, denied today that a nazi spy had been arrested on Ellis Island. New. York newspapers published a story that Karl Schlueter, sought last year as a nazi spy, had been j seized, and in Washington Stephen T. Early, President Roosevelt's secretary, sec-retary, said a spy had been taken into custody. Foxworth said his statement that no arrest had been made covered members of the crew of the scut- tied German liner Columbus, 513 of whom were sent to the west coast last night to go home by way i of the Pacific. |
