Show 'VET1 COUNTY EMPLOYE DIES Amos Smith Gabbott. 83, of 1460 South Stat street, veteran county employe and prominent L. L S. church official, died Sunday evening eve-ning in a Salt Lake City hospital of cause Incident to age. Mr. Gabbott was born In Salt Lake City January 20, 18S6. a son of Edward and Jane S. Smith Gabbott Gab-bott pioneers of 1848. He was graduated from the University of Deeeret and soon thereafter began be-gan his business, civic and church career. He" had been In the county assessor's as-sessor's office 30 years and at ona time was assessor. He served five terms as trustee on the Salt Lake City school board and waa chairman chair-man of tha Granite school board. He waa a leader in the Farmers' L. D. S. ward. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Angle G. McGhie and Mrs. Emmaretta G. Brown of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Kathryn G. Sargent of Elko, Nev, and Mrs. Jan G. White of Murray, and one son, Lester Gabbott of Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be conducted conduct-ed Wednesday at 10 a. m. In the Larkin mortuary, 260 East South Tempel street by Harold F. Stewart Stew-art bishop of the Jefferson L. D. S. ward. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday until 8 p. m. and Wednesday from 8 a. m. until the time of services. Interment will be In City cemetery. |
