Guests may view the show from 1 p.m. until 10 o'clock that night. Ladies especially will be interested inter-ested in Ruby Claudin's dolls some of which are 100 years old and her loniitos.se cups; also Lucile Pres-eott's Pres-eott's ceramics; Boulah Whiting's silver spoons collected from over j the world; Jessie Dalton's collec- tion of tea pots; Emma Gardner's antique dishes; Mary Maycock's hooked rugs; Lucille Bird's needle point; Cleo Heavernor's small antique an-tique dolls; Cora Lee Johnson's handerchief collection of some 200 from over the world; Mrs. Alfred Smith's African violets (about a hundred plants); Florence Krone's collection from Germany; Anna Johnson's Indian Pottery and hand made rugs; Nellie Anderson's pitcher collection; Irene Moon's flowers pressed in sand. The doll collection representing the presidents' wives will be displayed dis-played by Zina Johnson and Marie Whiting; demitasse cups from over the world by Clara Harmer; a Japanese collection by Beth Jensen Jen-sen and pettit point pictures by Mrs. Lucille Mead of Boulder City, Nev. , Men and women and all ages will marvel at the display to be arranged by Franchon Johnson noted hobbyist of Glendale, Calif., who will exhibit a boys Japanese Doll Festival; also 10 hand-made dolls by famous persons and IS Madonnas, besides presidential covers and mission covers. Mrs. Johnson will be remembered remember-ed for her Japanese girls Doll Festival Fes-tival shown here last year. Men visiting the hobby show will enjoy the fly tying and equipment exhibited by Vernon Callahan; also Jim Wardle's collection of Indian relics and articles from Arabia and other miscellaneous ' articles. Bill Claudin's gun collection wall attract the attention of young fellows and men as will Ted Best's arrows; Mary Nelson's collection from Brazil; Robert Christensen's match collection; Emest De-Woody's De-Woody's colleption of coins and stones some of the latter being set in rings; and Jim Whiting's penant collection. Verl Whiting will have a Book of Remembrance on display, in which all will be interested. Craig Christensen of Lehi will bring over his collection of president's presi-dent's campaign buttons on both parties from McKinley down to Eisenhower. Ramona Colton of Provo will exhibit -a collection connected with family histories including stamps, pictures of costumes and other interesting things from countries of ancestors; also a quilt with embroidered em-broidered uniforms of nursing from its origin until the present. Mrs. F. A. Brannan will possibly pos-sibly exhibit some of her wood carvings as an artistic hobby and Glen Turner will show some of his miniature stage settings. Jeff Miner's collection of some 300 arrowheads will be an inter- esting part of the hobby show as will John Moon's butterfly collection. collec-tion. The show is being held throughout through-out the afternoon and evening to give everyone an opportunity to attend. There will be a very small admittance, a benefit for the Third ward Elders organization of which Harold Whiting is president. |
