Show hotdogs and marshmallows. Afterward After-ward we played games under the lights on the school grounds. We had lots of fun. Mr. Frandsen's sixth grade went up on the flats above Center street where they roasted weiners and marshmallows, after which they played games on the grassy slopes. I We all had a lot of fun. $ . Brookside School News, Activities Michael Gardner, reporter All of the students of the school have been getting pictures of their grades. We had them taken by a local photographer. Now we can put them away and a few years from now we can start trying to recall who all of those young children chil-dren were with whom we used to go to school. , Mrs. Anderson's kindergarten has some frog eggs in their room. The children are having fun watching watch-ing them turn into tadpoles. Mrs. Oakes' room also had some of them but they made the mistake of having hav-ing the bottle too crowded so that they all smothered to death. Birthdays celebrated in Miss Lewis' room this week are those of Elaine Fullmer and Kathy Campbell. Lorraine Horton, from Mr. Wilson's grade also had a birthday and a party at home for all the girls in the fifth grade Deane Nelson, sixth grade teacher, teach-er, is back in school after representing repre-senting our school district at the national educational association meeting in Denver for a week. He reports that he visited in many of the Denver schools and found that they do many things quite differently differ-ently from us, and that they have a lot more equipment for instructional instruc-tional use than do the schools of Nebo district. This Monday was an exciting day at school because of the innocula-tions innocula-tions for polio. About 90 of the students in our first, second, third and fourth grades received the shots. The 37 students from our school who received the real vaccine vac-cine last year will have a booster cVinfr lotot rr in Mow Mr. Wilson's class had an outdoor out-door party. Each one of the class of 37 helped pay for the food, and the two room mothers, Mrs. Has-lam Has-lam and Mrs. Ollerton, did the purchasing. pur-chasing. We had a fire and cooked |
