Show V -, , - - School Teachers to Conduct State Meet in Springville Lady school teachers will take over in Springville Saturday, April 30, when the sixteenth annual convention con-vention of the Utah State Delta Kappa Gamma, na- uonai nonorary society tor womew in education will be held here, announces an-nounces Mrs. Mae B. Hunting-ton, publicity chairman. Mrs. Catherine Cather-ine D. Wills is general chairman of arrangements. The convention will open with an executive board meeting at 8 p.m., Friday, in the Little Theater of the Art Gallery, with Miss Sarah Sar-ah McCracken, state president, presiding. Theme of the meet is "Recruitment of Teachers for Today To-day and for Tomorrow." There will be an executive board breakfast at 8 a.m. at Kapps Melody Mel-ody Inn followed by registration at the Third-Ninth ward church from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. During this time also there will be state committee com-mittee meetings at the church. The general session of the rnn- ? of the organization will follow the afternoon meeting and will be held in the Relief Society room of the Third-Ninth ward church. A tour of the high school April Art show, conducted by Mrs. Huntington Hunt-ington at 4:15 p.m., will climax the convention and conclude the day's program. Decorations for the event are under direction of Rea Straw, Mary Schwartz, Helen Wheeler and Mae B. Huntington of Springville. Spring-ville. Registration tabs will be distributed distrib-uted through courtesy ' of the Springville Chamber of Commerce. vention is planned for 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon in the chapel, when N. Blaine Winters, director of personnel, per-sonnel, state school office, will speak on the subject, "Teachers for Today and for Tomorrow." Music at this meeting will be by the Springville Musettes, directed direct-ed by Mrs. Alberta Hoover. Mayor A. W. Cherrington will extend a welcome to the teachers and the Gamma chapter president, Alene Jensen of Provo, will also give a welcome speech. There will be a report by the treasurer together with other business directed by the state president. Noon Luncheon At the noon luncheon, Supt. W. 'W. Brockbank of Nebo school district, dis-trict, will speak on "Role of Women Wo-men Educators Today Tomorrow," Tomor-row," Mrs. Wills will welcome the delegation and Mrs. Eileen Bird will give violin selections, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Mary Bird. The collect will be read by Ruth Stephenson. Steph-enson. Afternoon Meeting The afternoon meeting at which reports will be made by the various var-ious chapter presidents and committee com-mittee chairmen, will also feature music by Mrs. Glida Ann Lewis, accompanied by Mrs. Betty Sum-sion. Sum-sion. Fern Anderson and Inez Wit-beck Wit-beck will give the necrology and a report on the headquarters building build-ing fund and the El Passo regional conference will be given by Hazel Clark.
