Show APPROACH 5ILW ZONE ORE BODIES, Utah Silver Lead Mines Being Be-ing Put in Shape for Extensive Ex-tensive Shipping. Succes3 Is attending the development tvork being carried on by the Utah SUvcr-Lxiad SUvcr-Lxiad Mines company on Its property near Morgan, according to J. H. Garrett, president of the company. Both the Blacksmith tunnel and the drift driven to tap at depth the SOO-foot level of the old Carbonate Hill mine, from which a fortune whs taken, ore within a tew .ect of their objectives. Showings of ore in the face of both workings chock Indisputably Indis-putably the amount of work estimated by Superintendent Con Anderson and mta- ing engineers as necessary to tap tne extensive ex-tensive ore showings opened up in tne Sliver Zone mine and the old Carbona.e Hill mines. , . . , When J. H. Garrett and Harry Ivnight visited the mine during the first part of the week, in the face of the Blacksmlt.i tunnel, which Is being run to tap at depth the Silver Zone workings, there were about two and a half feet of carbonates which show good value. Only a few fee,, more of drifting will be necessary to bring the fa.-o of the tunnel rignt into the large body of ore blocked out In the Silver Zone workings. The drift run to tap at depth t.io Ola Carbonate Hill workings has ?. full lace of ore which averages 12 per cent lead. Values should increase, it is said, as the objective Is neared. To round out a satisfactory season s work, according to Mr. Garrett, the company com-pany has decided to run the last two named drifts until they are well Into the ore. Meanwhile, a drift will be run from the Blacksmith tunnel to cut at depth the fissure which showed such promise in the riovle shaft. In this shaft, sunk only a distance of sixty feet, a fine showing of galena ore was opened up. A double-track double-track tunnel near the portal of the Blacksmith Black-smith tunnel will be run to the present ore bins a distance of 160 feet. In this xv-av the ore can be run under cover di-rec'tlv di-rec'tlv to the bins, from which it will be loaded Into the tramway. With this work accomplished and tne mine in physical shape so that a large tonnage of ore can be broken dally, suip-ments suip-ments can be begun In the spring and steadilv maintained, it Is said. |
