Show BRIGHAM PIONEER DIES ON THE COAST Special to The Tribune. BRIGHAM CITT, Nov. 7. 'Word -was received yesterday from San Francisco, Cal., of the death of Peter P. Slggard of this city, following a short Illness with pneumonia. The body Is en route here and will arrive tomorrow. Mr. Slggard departed for California about ten days ago, accompanied by his son, John Slggard. He had suffered for several months with a cancerous growth on his upper Hp. and the trip to California Califor-nia was made for the purpose of consulting consult-ing a specialist. When Mr. Slggard and his eon departed, the father complained of a slight cold, and It Is thought that the cold brought on pneumonia. Mr. Slggard was born In Denmark, November No-vember 30, 1844. He accepted the faith of the L. D. B. church in 185S and emigrated emi-grated to Utah, locating at Huntsvllle. He soon removed from there to Urlgham City and had since made his residence here. He married Miss Nelslne Johnson of this city. Besides his widow, he leaves five children Joseph, Lewis, John, Mrs. Peter Ahrensbach and Miffs Masgie Slggard.- Mr. Slggard had been a prominent figure fig-ure In Brlgham City since he came here, and at all times had been active In civic and church affairs. He retired from business busi-ness activities a number of years ago. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon in the Second ward chapel at 2 o'clock, and Interment will be In City cemetery. |
