Show CANTEEN MEMBERS PROUD OF RECORD Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO, Idaho, Nov. 7. The report re-port of the secretary of the Pocatello unit of the Red Cross shows- that the canteen in this city served nearly 27,000 men during its existence of little more than a year. The canteen distributed 5652 worth of tobacco and served 127,000 sandwiches and 5000 gallons of coffee to service men, in addition to caring for thirty-four sick men, taken off trains for medical attention. , At the annual meeting. Wednesday, the canteen elected the following as members mem-bers of the board of directors: Mrs E. C. White, Mrs. C. L. Lewis. S. L. Recce, Mrs. N. S. Pond of Downey, Mrs. R. Hunter. S. E. Brady, Jesse R. S. Budge, Al. Stoker, T. R. Jenkins, P. C. O'Malley, W. R. Siders. Charles Bassett of Lago, Dr. F. M. Sprague and E. J. Merrill. Mrs. John Hood was made chairman of the nominating committee. The report goes into detail of the activities ac-tivities of the organization, but one of the important items is that of the home service section, stating that 2007 families fami-lies were dealt with during the year, and that expenditures of the home' service ser-vice were $4354.09. |
