D. S. university opened yesterday in the Joseph F. Smith Memorial building. Many larg-e pieces of artistic lurniture have been made by Die boys, under the direction of A. S. Kienke, head of the department. Besides making GOO hospital tables for the Red Cross, the following students, vhoso work will appear in the exhibit, have found time to make some costly articles. ar-ticles. Fourth-year graduates whose work will be exhibited, together with articles made, are: Milton Cutler, library table; John Donaldson, extension dining room t'ble ; George .Spencer, dining room chairs; Shirley Shir-ley Knsign, Victrola and dining room ta-Vile; ta-Vile; Milton Crane, writing desk; George Knowlton, library tabic; Owen Richmo.nn, rocking chair; Le Roy Winter, library table. Third-year students: Jje Roy Winter, Win-ter, library tabhj ; Joseph Olson, bookcase book-case ; Donald Rose, bookcase ; Davitjl Smith, gentleman's chifferobe; l;Yank Stringham, cedar chest; Alton Sorenson, two chairs; Albert Peterson, office desk ; Harvey Woodbury, cedar chest ; Glen Stewart, Morris chair ; Victor Lyma n, mahogany table; Eugene Cannon, davenport; daven-port; Joseph T. Ijindsay, buffet: Alex Evans, lady's dressing table; George Scott , dressing table ; Robert Cameron, davenport. The second -year students have . also made splendid progress. The first -year students, under the direction di-rection of Joseph R. Miller, will have exhibits ex-hibits of mechanical drawings. The work of the domestic science department de-partment of the school is on display in the Z. C. M. .1. windows. Many handmade hand-made dresses and the beautiful hand work of the girls of this department of the university are on display. |
