Others Are Shelved. Senator Ransdell, Louisiana, retired from the naval committee and Sen:itor Shields of Tennessee from the commerce committee. From the agriculture committee, Senators Sen-ators Sheppard of Texas and Chamberlain retired, and Senator 11 arrlson of Mississippi Missis-sippi obtained membership. Senator Keed gave up his membership on the banking committee and Senator Walsh of Massachusetts Massa-chusetts was chosen a new member. Senator Sen-ator Gerry of Rhode Island retired from the privileges and elections committee. Of the new Democratic senators the following fol-lowing important committee assignments wore made: Dial, South Carolina, poshif-fice, poshif-fice, Cuban relations and national banks; Harris.
