Show I I Salt Lake Is Building Up, I Report Says SALT LAKE ranks seventh among the cities of the western I mountain section of the United j i States in building activity during j i the first six months of 1919. This I section includes the states of Utah, Montana, Idaho. Colorado, Wyoming, Wyo-ming, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Ne-vada, California, Oregon and Washington. Wash-ington. This is according to statistics compiled from municipal building reports covering the number of permits per-mits issued and the total value of construction operations in American Ameri-can cities having a population of 100,000 or more. An analysis of these figures shows that Salt Lake1, which is fifty-first in estimated population, stood fifty-second fifty-second among the cities of the whole country in total number of permits issues and fiftieth in the total value of building operations for which these permits were issued. Salt Lake, during tliis period, is- . sued 540 permits and the estimated value of the work was $1,283,000. |
