Show Bill SOLDIER OIES II I0HG Private Bert Freeman - Succumbs Suc-cumbs to Pneumonia at Fort D. A. Russell. BRIGHAM CITY, March 29. "Word has just been received here of the death of Private Bert Freeman, who was stationed at Fort D. A. Russell, Wyo., where he had been awaiting his discharge from the service. TJlie cause of death was pneumonia, pneumo-nia, following a siege of influenza, and death -occurred Wednesday of this week. Private Freeman was the son of Mr., and Mrs. George R. Freeman of this city and was born in England in 1857. He cams to America with his parents when 8 years of age and had made thia city ; his home stnea that tlma. 1 Ho was one of the first volunteers to enter military service from Brtgham City, i and immediately after offering his ser- vices was sent to Fort RusselL Soon after arriving tnere he contracted spinal meningitis and was sent noma to regain I his health, whlcli he did and again re turned to the training camp, where he has remained until bis death, being the only one of his company left behind. The young man is survived by his parents par-ents and several brothers and sisters. The body Is expected to arrive tomorrow, accompanied by Ernest Freeman, a brother, who immediately went to his bedside when it was learned that he was seriously 111. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. |
