Show iWlELLlOWSl " FIELD Reported Daily Capacity of 30 to 40 Barrels of High Grade Oil. f Word that the Emerald Oil company hud brought in a well with a driily i-a-. paoity of thirty to forty barrels of high-grade high-grade oil. in the Uangely distrU't, was brought to Salt Lake yesterday by William Wil-liam ' Neal of Vernal. The report was confirmed in ;i letter received from Ver-rtaJ Ver-rtaJ yesterday afternoon by Dr. P. S. Coke. ' The well brought in a few days afto makes the mu-eiuh brought in in the Kangoly field by the Knu-vald company, Which is made up almost exclusively of men in and around Vernal. So far not a dry hole has resulted from the operations of the company. None of the wells ia a Mc producer, but all are prodmiug oil of about 45 gravity, whieh is said to be the best grade discovered in this country. All of the wells have been brought in at shallow depth, the deepest being the brought in it few days ago, at a ifliiepth of about GuO feet. Only portable riss have been used in the operations of x the company, and the wells vary in depth from a little more than 300 to 600 feet. None of the wells has been shot, i Georue Adams of Vernal, one of the big holders in the Kmerald company, has ! been in Salt Lake several days, and announced an-nounced la.st nigiu that the company plans extensive development work durins Lhe coining summer. The work is beim; continued throne bout the winter regardless regard-less of the weather, but the big work is planned for the warmer months. Mr. Adams reports that there is considerable con-siderable oil activity in the basin during the past few months. Many small rigs have been in operation for some time p;ist, and it is reported from various sources that standard rigs are to be employed em-ployed extensively in the drilling operations opera-tions this year. The Range ly district ik just across the Colorado dine a few miles east of Vernal. The ICmerald company cont rols about 40(ii acres in this district. The big activities ac-tivities planned for the year in the basin are largely on holdings in Utah. |
