Show BRITISH IN AMERICA TO BE CONSCRIPTED WASHINGTON, Jan. 22. Under an agreement reached by representatives of the American, British and Canadian governments, gov-ernments, British subjects in the United States who have taken out first papers for American citizenship will be made liable lia-ble to draft into the British and Canadian Cana-dian armies by treaties soon to be negotiated. nego-tiated. British subjects in this country, including includ-ing the first-paper men, up to 45 years of age will be subject to draft. A separate treaty is being framed for the Canadians, as they prefer that their men in the United States .shall be subject to call into their own armies only. |
