Show SEVIER FOREST LAND OPENED FOR ENTRY Before sailing fop Europe, according to information received from Washington yesterday. President Wilson signed a proclamation restoring to entry 2-126 acres of land in the Sevier national forest in Garfield and Iron counties. The land is in scattered tracts and chiefly valuable for agricultural purposes. The land may be or.tered upon at any time, but will not be open to homestead settlement until un-til January 15. Filings may ne made through the Salt Lake United States laud office. No designation of the land has yet been received at the local land office and there is no definite information as to its exact location, although it is believed that it lies along the edges of the national na-tional forett and will need but little j clearing. As it has not j et been sur- I veyed. settlers cannot make filings at once, "nut may enter the land and as soon as it is surveyed those who have begun to live upon it will have preference in filing homesteads. |
