Show URGE UD1TI0N TO ASSISTSOLDIERS Nationalized Plan Proposed to Secure Employment for Returned Men. Co-ordination of every possible force in the nationalized plan of providing every ev-ery man mustered out of army or navy service with lucrative employment Is the watchword of the council of national defense de-fense ahd the federal employment service, ser-vice, and to this end the services of workers with the several war-work organizations or-ganizations have been enlisted. Telegrams received yesterday at the United States employment service bureau and by members of associations allied with tliis department for the purpose of providing for the returned soldiers recommend rec-ommend stronuly that the Y. M. C. A., Knights of Columbus, Jewish 'Welfare, War Camp Com muni ty, morale, personnel person-nel and demobilization branches of the war department, committee on educational educa-tional special training, in connection with the army, and the federal board of vocational voca-tional education be all joined in a single program for this specific purpose. To assist all representatives participating participat-ing in Ibis nation-wide campaign to look after the interests of the returning heroes, he-roes, the to' 'owing statement has been Issued for their guidance: "The L'nitcd States employment service ser-vice agent in your camp will be in a position po-sition to assist the men being demobilized demob-ilized to obtain jobs in their home towns and elsewhere, and through the employment employ-ment service he will have means of communication com-munication with bureaus for returning soldiers throughout the country. Arrange Ar-range to keep in constant touch with him to obtain information from him and to furnish him any assistance in your power. Make evcy effort to spread information about your camp concerning the employ-net employ-net service and its functions and to uri;f iiion the men the importance of furnishing, through authorized channels, accurate information as to their employment employ-ment rc'i'urements. Impress the fact that there Is not a surplus of Jobs, and that, while employers throughout the country are likely to give preference to men in uniform, i; is most probable that jobs wili be filled promptly. Urge the men. therefore, to so straight to their home towns and save their pay s as to tide over the period that may elapse before they secure positions.
