Grant,- Member of Second Engineers, Killed in Battle. Fred J. Grant, 22 years old, formerly of Salt Lake and Ogden and son of Frank E. Grant, superintendent of the Nevada Consolidated Copper company at Ruth, Nev., was killed In battle in France on November 10. Mr. Grant was a member of the Second regiment of engineers. He entered the army as a volunteer in May, 11)17, and was trained at Fort Bliss, Texas. Mr. Grant was born at Ogden. He removed re-moved to Salt Lake with his family in 1Ei 10, where he was graduated from Die West high school and attended the University Uni-versity of Utah one year. He was a sttudent at the Utah Agricultural college when lie enlisted. t9 . t In addition to his parents. Mr. r.rant leaves two brothers and two sisters, Francis Fran-cis G. Grant, Jane Grant, Margaret Grant and John Grant of Ruth. |
