Show Higher Rates Protested. Special to The Tribune. WASHINGTON, D. C, Aug. 5. Congressman Con-gressman Addison T. Smith, at the earnest earn-est request of the wholesale dealers of Pocatello and Boise, has tiled a protest with the interstate commerce commission against -the advanced freight rato on canned goods from California, taking effect September 1, beeauso of their having hav-ing sold many cars of merchandise on the basis of the present rate. Mr. Smith has urged that the increased rate not take elVect until January 1. The matter is receiving the careful consideration consid-eration of the commissioners. |
