Though the trading In mining stooka on the local exchange yesterday was comparatively com-paratively lighter than usual during the half session, the demand was heavier for the lower-priced issues. Some slocks showed decided tendencies to advance under light buying orders. A few of the dividend payers were weaker and the demand for the higher-priced issues was lighter than It has been recently. Many of the brokers are of the opinion that the market has reached bottom on practically prac-tically all of the stocks. They are predicting pre-dicting higher prices In the immediato future. Alta Tunnel was stronger, selling at flc, Big Pour was weaker, selling down to 99c; Emma Copper was firm at 50c; Keystone was weaker, selling down to 49c; Midwest Sulphur soldat 40c, Michigan-Utah was weaker, selling down to 23'c; New Quincy sold down to 130, Sliver Shield advanced to 27c and Tar Baby advanced to 6c. The only higher-priced higher-priced issues traded In were Silver King Coalition at 52.90, South Hecla, which sold down to $2.22. and Iron Blossom, which sold at $1.60. The total number' of shares bought amounted to 63,825, at a valuation of $7025.25. During the week there was traded in a total of 40S.131V2 shares, at a valuation of $70,123.07.
