Show SUGAR HOUSE HIS BUSK LEAGUE Organization Formed to Promote Interests of Pretty Suburb. For the purpose of promoting the interests in-terests of the Sugarhouse district the citizens of that locality have organized a business men's league. An interesting feature of the meeting meet-ing at which the organization was launched w-as the announcement of the first annual outing, to be given on August 19. On that day an automobile automo-bile excursion is to be taken to Lagoon, La-goon, where a picnic and a programme will be had. It is expected that fully 100 autos wTill be in line. When the excursionists reach the center cen-ter of Salt Lake they will parade the streets with drums, trumpets and banners, ban-ners, and promise to awaken the city with their enthusiasm. After the parade pa-rade the members of the party will resume re-sume their trip to Lagoon. Following are the officers and committees com-mittees named by the league: Officers President, A. (J. Smoot; vice president, J. Martin Madscu; secretary, J. E. King. Finance committee A. C. Smoot, J. A. Rockwood and William Thompson. Publicity committee J. -Martin Mad-sen, Mad-sen, Nephi J. Hansen and M. 0. Ash-ton. Ash-ton. Amusement committee ,T. E. King, William Nesbit and Bird Murphy. W. C. A. Smoot, Jr., is tho press representative rep-resentative of the organization, and he says that it is the intention of tfle league to let the people of Utah and other states know that Sugarhouse is on the map. |
