E. G. Gowans, state superintendent of public instruction. instruc-tion. The purpose of the visit of the executive execu-tive secretary to Salt Lake is to lend what assistance, he may . to the state commission on f eeble-mindeduess in its undertaking: to make a survey' of the state. The dispatch from Secretary Byers contained also the information that the American committee will send a field worker here to assist in the making of the survey, which will be begun in September. The survey is to be undertaken to determine, as near as may, be the extent of the problem of feeble-mincledness in 1 the state of Utah, especially in its relation rela-tion to public school work. |
