Show MILITIAMEN DENY SIGNING NAMES TO CLARK STATEMENT By International News Service. COLUMBUS, N. M., Aug. 5. Twenty-eight Twenty-eight militiamen repudiated their signatures signa-tures today to a statement vouching for newspaper articles written by Hugh Clark maligning Captain E. J. Slate of company D, Second Massachusetts infantry. in-fantry. Captain Slate was exonerated of the charges. Clark, a Mt. Holyoke, Mass., correspondent, is under military arrest pending his trial by court-martial. The date for this will be fixed by General Pershing, commander of this district. |
