Show REPORT OF LEOWORA PROPERTY IS GIVEN Charles Zabriskie Says That Company Has the Making of a Mine. Shareholders of the Leonora Mining and Milling company are taking a new Interest in their Beaver county proposition proposi-tion on account of extremely favorable reports coming from the present work, while the decision recently reached by the officials to drive for 300 feet of new depth Is considered tho opening wedge to restore this proposition to the production produc-tion column. Several weeks ago the property was visited by Charles Zabriskie, Zabris-kie, superintendent of thc Iron Blossom property of Tlntlc, and it was thc. result of this visit that thc directors outlined thc new campaign of development. Geology of Property. Mr. Zabriskle's report wus a very favorable fa-vorable one, and a wide interest ha.s been taken In thc same by owners of Beaver county properties near the Leonora. Leo-nora. This report was available on Saturday, Sat-urday, and It follows. In part: The country rock Is lime, quartz-lie quartz-lie and porphyry, with quartz volns running easterly and westerly and northerly and southerly. Tho" main ore zone runs northerlv and southerly south-erly through thc entire length of the property. This ore zone can not only be traced through the Leonora, hut through several of the adjoining properties, the Red Warrior, the Moscow Mos-cow and the Cedar-Talisman. Tho Majestic properties lie directly cast, and the Hoosler Boy. one of tho properties prop-erties of tho Majestic, lies directly west. At the Hoosler Boy I found them Installing some heavy machinery machin-ery to do extensive work. In addition to visiting the old and new workings on the Leonora prop-ertj', prop-ertj', I was granted the privilege of visiting the Red Warrior and the Moscow properties. I found that thoy were taking out, a very high grade of silver and lead ores and that the bodies of ore were apparently getting richer and stronger with depth. The f reatest depth arrived at on cither of heso properties is about 700 feet, and It appears that It will get richer with depth. The Moscow Is Just starting a new three-compartment on the northeastern part of their property, prop-erty, making their workings ono-half-mllo nearer the Leonora property. prop-erty. This shaft, they Informed me, Is to go down 1000 feot. I note that you have done considerable consid-erable work on the east and west fissures of the Leonora. This, of course, Is only surface work, but the indications are that somo very high grade silver and lead ore has been taken out. Judging from the surfaco showings on your property, which T found to be stronger than anything in the district, I would recommend that you continue this work in the shaft and tunnel that you have started, this drift being in now about 35 feot. By continuing at least another 200 or 300 feet you should cut the east and west fissure at a depth of about 400 feet. In my opinion, your ore bodies will be found at about the same depth as in the neighboring properties. It will therefore be necessary for you to finance your property, put in machinery ma-chinery and open it up at depth". In rav opinion, vou could do this work, at a cost of "about ?25,000. $10,000 to be expended for machinery and boarding house, leaving ' $15,000 for , development work. Looks Like a Mine. The work which you are doing in the upper tunnel should exposo within with-in the next thirty to fifty feet zinc ore, which Is very prominent in the old workings above. There are from ten to fourteen Inches of high-grade zinc exposed In these old workings, and. In my opinion. It would be folly not to continue this work, as you might get a nice body of ore to help finance thc mine- and open up the lower workings to depth, where you should get your permanent ore bodies. Without, hesitancy. I would recommend recom-mend the continuance of thc work, as without doubt the Leonora has tho earmarks of a mine and should, within a short time, be classed among thc dividend payers. |
