Show FREED-GROESBECK TEAM FORMED Business Men Backing Well-known Well-known Men for Place in City Commission. Coupled m the betting as tho "business "busi-ness men's entry," appear Lester D. Freed and John A. Groesbeck as candidates candi-dates for city commissioners. These two well-known young1 men wero put forward yesterday by a number of Salt Lake business busi-ness men as candidates, and while neither neith-er as yet has announced his candidacy, it Is considered likely that both will bo formally announced aa candidates within the next few days. Under the plan as outlined by some prominent business men yesterday, tho two will run aa a team for the places on the city commission and not In any sonse against eaoh other. Lester D. Freed is the manager of tho Freed Furniture Fur-niture company and Is widely known throughout the city. Air. Groesboclc was formerly county treasurer and at present pres-ent Is with Studobaker Brothers company of Utah. If tho two accept the proffered Indorsement In-dorsement of the business men. It Is understood un-derstood that a nonpartisan committee of business men will be named to conduct con-duct a campaign for their nomination and election. When asked about their candidacies last night, Air. Freed admitted that ho was considering being a candidate, but was not yet ready to announce that he had entered tho race, and Air. Groesbeck said he was not a candidate at the present time. |
