MURPHY of Butte was elected president of the Union Association of Baaoball clubs yesterday. It was decided to leave tho president's salary at tho old figure, $2500 a year, a motion to reduce it Homewhat being defeated. Mr. Murphy Mur-phy is a commission merchant of Butte. He succeeds B. C Mulroney of Missoula, Mis-soula, who was the leagued president in 1913. W. D. Btowu of Ogden was eloctod vico president. The directors of the association held their mootiug at the Hotel Utah. Those present with power to vote wore: E. C. Mulronoy, Missoula, casting two votes, one as president of tho league and ono aa representative of the Missoula Mis-soula club; B. G-. Hite, Salt Lake; A. E. P. Briscoe, Helena; Larry Duggan. Butte; "W. D, Brown, Ogden. Great Falls -was not represented. North Against South. Until yesterday it had been tacitly understood that the presidency should go to a Salt Lake man, inasmuch aa this city 1b the money winner for tho association.
